Description on Commonsin 1830, Italian engraver Gabriele de Sanctis published a collection of ornamental alphabets decorated with images of birds. These letters, XYZ, are represented by the Airone Bianco (no, I don't know why he used an A-bird instead of an X-bird), the "Yacou" (probably the crested guan , but also possibly the white-browed guan , blue-throated piping guan , or black-fronted piping guan ), and the "Ziollo" (possibly the nuthatch ).
